Story:
Herod Aiantis attended the proceedings of the Stukav trials as much as he could.

He would also meet with nobles and send diplomats to reclaim the lands of the Charazet family. Bribes had to be used but the price was low.

Title:RP Lift Those Skirts Up Girls

Story:
-She is going to be so angry over this. I should have just sent one of the mercenaries we just hired. At least they have guns.... and don't know how scary this woman is. Sooner this gets done the sooner I get my vacation.-
Oralan wanders down the hall slowing down quite a bit as he gets closer to a big plasteel door.
-She has pink taffeta curtains on this thing!? I walk by here everyday and never noticed. This is so incredibly tacky for an underground base.-
After a few more minutes he closed the 4ft gap and rapped on the door.
It groaned open.
-My god! She made the door have a creak. She actually went out of her way to make it creak. This is going to be very, very not good.-
He bounced up and down on his toes a few times and shook his hands. Then he pushed the door open the rest of the way, cringed a bit at the sound, and walked in. The first sight he saw was Lady Susan completely naked. The second sight he saw was a ceramic coffee mug hurtling for his head.

"Traditionally people knock at least before coming into a woman's room."
Oralan held the cold wet cloth to the new gash in his forehead. "The door was"-Naked. I saw her naked.-"unlocked. People tend to lock them when they need privacy."
"Oralan, dear, when have you known me to bother with that sort of thing?"
"Good point i suppose. How about a sign? Maybe a big red light we can put outside? all you'll have to do is flip a switch."
"And let the peeping Toms in the office know what I'm doing?!"
-Too be fair, they'd either have to be very stupid, or very brave. You knew who I was when i came in and still you hit me in the head with a mug. God forbid it's someone you don't like.-"Right, what was I thinking."
He took a very deep breath and stood up.
"By the way........ You need to start auditioning girls for the burlesque show upstairs and to get a few set designs ready. Since your mission has been delegated to Joshua, that is."
Right after saying this he broke out into a full run out the door and down the hall. Behind him there was the sound of crashing pottery, and angry curses.

Summary:
To get the front operation started Lady Susan is to begin looking for girls to staff the burlesque house. 30 will be hired. 5 are to be bartenders.

Leto turned away from the open window, his hands on his hips. He enjoyed the soft breeze and salty air, and oftentimes he stood looking down upon the courtyard. "What's the rush, young sir?" He said quietly, studying the aide.

"News from Eduard Tiiopa'il, Sir." Responded the aide, slightly out of breath. He handed Leto a paper, and hurried away.

"Ahhhh.." Leto sighed under his breath as he scanned the message. News from the Alpha Centauri sector.

Hey Atreides,

That kind of question is best sent directly to the GC or myself, or posted in the player support area. To answer your question, to gain the preliminary results of the survey, you will need to post a preperation of review for the results, and included in that an indication as to whether you wish to continue surveying the planet or not. From that you will be given a ruling which will detail the results of the preliminary survey and if you want to continue surveying the planet, how much it will cost and how long it will take.

As per the recent announcement of the GC, we have clarified this very area of the rules as it had been an unwritten rule until now. When a ruling on an RP/project is not instantaneous and requires multiple turns to complete, a further RP is required upon the conclusion of the specified time to actually feel the effects of the project. The GM Team will not complete projects started, even if the time has elapsed without the final post of the applicable player. This is to demosntrate that a faction cannot start a long series of projects every turn and then never look back on them, but rather that they require investment and resources in the form of commodities, solarii and most important the personnel and attention of the factions themselves. RP slots represent a faction's ability to stretch its resources in given areas, and requiring the review post at the completion of projects emphasises continued attention to that project itself. A rough idea of the process of project RPs:

1. Player comes up with an idea and creates an RP stating they want to address X problem, or achieve Y.
2. GM provides a ruling that will outline at least one way in which X or Y can be addressed and the costs associated and time required.
3. Player selects which option to take, or even proposes an alternate plan through their RP. If an option is chosen, then payment is made.
4. GM provides a ruling, and if all payments are made, details when the project should be completed.
5. Once the project is completed as indicated in the GM ruling, the player conducts a review, or grand opening or whatever else is suitable for the project.
6. GM provides a ruling that will detail the success and effect(s) resulting from the project.

That 6 step process can occur multiple times within a single RP topic for the much larger projects as large projects are broken down into smaller stages that constitute a mini-project on their own. Hopefully that clears up the issue for you, and if not, feel free to ask on any doubtful points.

"Please, purchase enough raw material to last us one year."

Title: Paying our Due

Story: Jaymie was grateful that as a mentat he was able to multi task at a high level. As he sat on board one of the lead freighters making it's way to planetfall on Ecaz he was directing not only the move itself through various underlings, but also other plans that his lord had set into motion. Not for the first time he was also glad that they had had the foresight to set up agents and allies on the planet months in advance of this move. Those same agents now made the monumental task of reclamation many, many times easier then it would otherwise have been.

The most pressing task before him though was seeing to the economic welfare of his new home; something the previous administrations had been somewhat lax on.

"See to it that these materials are delivered immeidately upon our landing," he ordered one of his underling. "They will know what its for."

Sure enough, this also had been prepared in advance. Count Merlyn had been most insistent that they be able to pay all the necessary maintenance costs immediately to get Ecaz up and running to its maximum potential. He wanted to be seen as economically secure as quickly as possible. There was to be no down time for the Ecazi economic infrastructure.

Title:The Grand Survey

Story: The grand survey was now giving way to the grand rebuilding project that Count Ecaz had initially envisioned. Now, as his father's agent on the ground Stefano Ecaz, as the acting Baronet, had the charge of fulfilling the great design. Watching from his keep in the capital he saw as various vessels settled in for a landing bearing the needed materials to get the project moving.

"I want this to remain on schedule," he told the foreman in charge of the labor crews, "or even ahead of that schedule. If we can move things along faster without sacrificing quality then let me know. I can allocate more manpower or food if that would help."

While the foreman discussed the exact needs for the project Stefano allowed a brief moment of satisfaction to settle over him. The families fortunes were turning for the better and he was pleased to be doing this one small part to further his fathers goals. So long as he could accomplish what was set before him here then he was sure he would have done his best for the family.


Summary: Stefano allocates the 112s for the proposed project and makes sure that the needed materials are delivered. He further offers to bring in slave labor and additional food for the workers if it could speed the building along without impairing the quality of the final product.

Story:It was finally time. Merlyn Ecaz stood with his daughter on the lunar city and watched the Guild ships making their approach to planet Ecaz. In a few short hours it would all be done. House Ecaz was coming home.

"Its a beautiful sight father," said Jenice as she watched with some awe. She had never before seen an entire house moved like this. When she had last seen so many ships coming towards her homeworld they bore armies as she and her clan were forced into exile.

"Indeed," was all her father said. It was a sight for sore eyes to him as well, but still only the beggining. There was much yet to do.

"I'll be going down planet side shortly. Our agents indicate that the Poritrin are gone and that the nobles I contacted all of those months ago are keeping order in advance of my arrival. All goes according to plan."

Jenice looked from the fleet of ships to her father.

"Not even a moment to celebrate our good fortune?"

"Time enough for that once we are safely home dear. Then there will be plenty of time for celebrations."

Now was probably not the time to tell her about the rest of his plans. Reclaiming Ecaz was after all only the beggining.

As part of Operation Farmers and Soldier levies and training regiments were carried out on Galador and Pirias Prime. The general consensus among the soldiers that they were going to be deployed to the warzone on Eirdanos was not disturbed. Although no official records told of conflict on the planet, the soldiers knew that many of them would be using their standard issue rifles at one point or another.

Without a general though, there would be a gap in the leadership that would need filling before these boys were shipped off to the newest Aiantis fief. Until then it was training, drills, sleep and sloppy grub. In that order.

Title: Taking Advantage

Story:
The mentat Raynor resided in one of the better places of the capital city. Today would sound the conclusion of half a year of hard work. The ride in the groundcar to the factories was one filled with sober landscapes of shacks and cheap tenement buildings. Much work could be done to improve the infrastructure and housing conditions to provide a better atmosphere but it would be useless to think about it before the factories were up and running.

The testing facilities were a familiar place to Raynor now and he waited in the bunker for the test firing of the next batch of products. The major stood outside, lasgun in two hands, arms shaking and ready to fire. Beside the mentat, somebody started a countdown which echoed over the courtyard of the buildings and increased the anticipation and anxiety over the final success of the work.

Title: RP - A New General

Story:
The soft hum of the repulsor chair in action broke the silence of the hallway of the Aiantis palace. The Marquis had been out of bed for two months but was still not allowed to perform any strenuous activity. Though he longed to jump out of his chair and get back on the practice floor of the guards wing, he was being watched closely by Auckland, the Suk doctor. He had not even been allowed to read the reports of his son's commands over the previous months and Auckland must've predicted his client's heart rate would've made things difficult.
The Suk couldn't have been more wrong, however, and Bolvar himself was surprised by the fact that he was proud of his son's dealings, ruled by inexperience as they might be. In the end, though, Stukav's position as Governor-General had been mostly to annoy the Eleusis general command on Eirdanos and the man excelled in annoying people, but the decision to let him use heavy-handed tactics on the nobility had back-fired.
Although, the opportunity to clean house and install a new military leader with fresh ideas was a welcoming prospect and something that the Marquis could undertake without much physical activity or risk of high blood pressure. As such, he was happy to engage himself lightly in the affairs of his house while he let his son deal with the newly acquired fief. The worst that could happen was that his son learned a lesson in rulership.

The inner courtyard hovered into view and slowly the chair descended the steps. Bolvar's mind was focused on the first candidate waiting below. He wanted the natural sunlight to inspect these men. It was better that way, to inspect their natural physique, their posture and athleticism. And he enjoyed the good weather as much as anyone. Even an iron heart expands a little in heat.

Story:


Herod entered the conference room. The council had debated here during the time under Stukav but today it was filled with advisors, mentats and a herald who would take diligent mental notes and make a report later. As a guard shut the door behind the young heir, Herod moved to his seat at the head of the table under the painting of a handful of farmers at work in the fields by an unknown author. He placed a paper folder before him which had a small label on the cover: Operation Farmers and Soldiers

Herod placed his elbows on the table besides the paper and clasped his hands. "Gentlemen. You have all been supportive and helpful in advising the way forward for the new Aiantis fief. I cannot recall making a tougher decision during my short reign in my father's absence and I hope that I don't have to make another in the short time to come."
He took a deep breath to steady himself. "As some of you know, I have never been a supporter of the heavy-handed tactics that my family has employed since its inception long ago but I have seen for myself the volatile situation and I fear that some of you are right when they say the status quo is dangerous. On top of that, with the current food crisis, more eyes will turn to Eirdanos and hope to see a resolve that will bring relief to the starving mouths around the Empire. I cannot let it happen that Eirdanos change hands again before we see the food industry back in order."
He straightened his back and laid his arms on the arm rests beside him. "Having taken everything in consideration, your adivce, the current situation and my own pragmatic views, I have decided that the best way forward for Eirdanos is to continue a militarist regime. To that end I have devised, with some of your help, Operation Farmers and Soldiers which is to increase the amount of house guard, the output of the farming industry and the general content of the nobility."

Herod opened the folder and took a moment to read the opening lines while folders were handed out by the herald to the others.

He stabbed his finger at the folder before him. "Farmers will aim to increase farming output through quotas of food to the nobility based on the amount of arable land in their possession and the rural population of those lands. Those nobles that don't meet their requirements will face consequences in the form of land repossesion to be given to their cousins who are able to to deliver. We will try and modernise the farming industry on the whole level in order to increase the output per citizen ratio over time. We should start with turn-arounds of around 6 months, increasing them steadily to 1 year and then 3 years over time."
He turned a page and continued in the same breath. "The Soldiers side of OFS will levy troops from militarist nobles into the house guard along with troops from other Aiantis fiefs in order to more securely police the concentrated population centers of Eirdanos. Regular patrols will ensure that our presence is felt and as a result crime rates will hopefully decrease and the population will be less convinced by their leaders' rebellious indoctrination. We should look to triple our current force on Eirdanos within months through these measures."

He closed the folder before reading the details included later on. "We will keep the population and the nobility too busy with farming to form and problems and we will increase farming output steadily in the coming months alongside the increased presence of house guard troops."
He stood and clasped the folder under his arm. "I expect you will want to read the details and suggest some tweaks on the overall operation so we will continue this meeting after lunch."
He paced towards the door and with a curt smile to the table dismissed in a few words. "Gentlemen. Enjoy your steak."

My loyal subjects,

Four agents were recently captured while attempting to infiltrate this House. These agents were interviewed and have been found to be members of the Bene Tleilax, therefore under article four of the Imperial Decree relating to the Tleilaxu, these individuals shall be executed and their bodies publicly burned in the star port within the coming days.

I must warn you that anyone who is found to be working with or for the Bene Tleilax shall face the same punishment by order of His Excellency Shaddam Corrino. It is to be noted however that many individuals are kidnapped by the Bene Tleilax and kept for days before they are executed by them. You are therefore urged to closely watch your friends, family and anyone you are in regular contact with and if you notice anything unusual in there behaviour (eg, they disappear for a few hours and cannot acceptably explain their disappearance) you are to report them to the House Guard.

Your friends, family and acquaintances will not be harmed.

We shall however test them to ensure they are not Bene Tleilax infiltrators and shall question them to determine whether or not they work with the Bene Tleilax. If your friends, family or acquaintances are found to have no connection to Tleilaxu they shall be released unharmed.

However if they are found to be Bene Tleilax infiltrators (which can assume the appearance of your friends, family or acquaintances) then the infiltrator will be executed at once and a search will be conducted in the hopes of finding your friends, family and acquaintances alive and well.

Special Note wrote:REMEMBER – Time is a factor, so be safe and report anything unusual straight away! You may not only find an infiltrator – but you could also save your friends, family or acquaintances life!

Failure to report anything unusual in the activity of your friends, family or acquaintances may result in a reduction of food rations, a period of hard labour or - if found to deliberately aide a Tleilaxu infiltrator/ agent or sympathizer - death.

These are in accordance with the wishes of the Imperial Throne and for the good of us all. I urge my faithful subjects to be strong and vigilant in these dark times we are currently experiencing and report anything unusual to the nearest guard.

Note – Anyone who correctly identifies a Tleilaxu infiltrator or Tleilaxu sympathizer or agent shall be rewarded with double food rations for a week.

Summary:

A message is circulated to all members of House Alexin warning them to be on guard for Tleilaxu agents.

Posters are put up to illustrate how seriously the nobility are taking this matter.

A reward of double food rations is offered to anyone who correctly identifies a Bene Tleilaxu infiltrator, agent or sympathizer.

Anyone who is suspected of being with the Tleilaxu is to be arrested and brought to the attention of Baroness Alexin (though kept away from her person).

This is the beginning of a new anti-spying program, it is hoped that in the long term this program will help raise the intrigue rating of House Alexin.

Title: Operation Perseus

Story:

General Marcus sat within the Sardaukar CP reading over the reports and nodding slighty. His Sardaukar had performed well and had the capitol city in total lockdown preventing any of these riots or trouble causes to take root within the new Aiantis capitol city. Of course this could only last so long, His Majesty would not keep his Sardaukar here forever.

The outlaying towns were a different story. Most had begun to even forget the Alexin rulers and had turned their focus to the Aiantis. Properganda and slogan writing was now in full swing condeming their new rulers and calling for those willing to raise up. The General sighed, would no one in this universe settle without a fight? Would non simply thank their blessing that a Great House was taking over the rule of the planet and that their prospects were much better?

No. Of course not. That would be simple.

"Burseg," He called to the officer to his side. "Ready a battalion of men and locate one of the major cities causing these... problems."

He placed the documents on the desk in front of the officer. "Once you believe you have located a rebel alligned city, take the battalion and... show our displeasure at their activities."

Summary:

• General Marcus Depfirm has assigned his next ranking officer to investigate the reports of increased rebel activity
• A battalion, consisting of 1200 Sardaukar, are to be despatched once a likely rebel target has been loctated. They are to make an example of this /town by force.
• Leaflets will then be sent to other towns and cities informing them the Emperor has promoted House Aiantis to take over the fief and has per the forms of the Empire, they are required to submit to their new rulers.

Story:

The decision as to which Mentat to choose is not an easy one when one considers the importance of a Mentat. Due to financial restrictions Lady Alexin has, with more than a little regret, ruled out Marek Getrum as she could in no way justify such an expense at this time.

With the choice between Percival Modnar and Kristophe Vasiliev the Baroness has requested more data on both Mentats.

In relation to Percival Modnar the questions posed to the Order representative are:
- Is the price flexible?
- Would his merchant background bring any economic benefits? (eg, suggestions on building, maintaining and improving and any other trading related benefits that will be of use to a financially crippled house)

In relation to Kristophe Vasiliev the questions posed to the Order representative are:

- To whom were his families loyalties? (The current ruling family, the former ruling family)
- How did Kristophes’ father die? (if murdered, o r killed in battle – at who’s hands?)
- Can Kristophe be trusted to let any past mistrust or misdeeds be forgiven?
