Title:Homecoming
Type of RP:Conflict/Cross Faction

Story:Count Merlyn watched from a seat of honor on the bridge of one of his cargo carriers. Far, far below him he could see the deep green of Ecaz come into view. They were approaching the day side of the planet now with a great fleet of cargo and supplies. They were in fact moving the families base of operations back to the world of their origin.

"Beautiful, isnt it Jaymie?"

"Indeed sire. Beautiful and deadly as always."

The mentats words were tinged with a hint of awe. The strides that his Count had made in getting this far politically were truly remarkable. To be moving back to Ecaz though, and the economic and political clout that it would entail, were all but beyond belief. It was a monumental step forward to their families standing.

"How long will it take do you think?" The Count asked.

"That milord, depends entirely on the Poritrin. We have the funds in place and all the necessary people. If the Doge is as prepared we can have you home very, very soon."

Jaymies prediction though fails to come through. After some time in orbit the Poritrin not only fail to acknowledge that they are ready to leave but fail to respond in any way. Uneasy stares and tension fill the bridge of the lead Ecazi ship as all eyes turn to the Count to see what he will do. Finally, he speaks.

"I fear that they do not see fit to respond Jaymie."

"So it would seem Sire."

"Very well then. We shall have to go to our back up plan. Order all ships to the lunar city of Aerystryl. Alert our men planet side to proceed."

The order was given an the flottila changed course as directed. Most of the officers had no idea what to expect. Of those on board on the Count himself and his mentat Jaymie had any notion as to what this back up plan was. It took a few hours till they arrived at the third moon on which Aerystryl was situated. It was the only Ecazi city not located on or beneath the surface of the planet itself. A glittering domed metropolis, it was as close to Ecaz as most foreigners ever wanted to go. Here, safe from the carnivorous plant life and radioactve landscape, merchants came to ply their craft and the Guild operated their local outpost.

"Jaymie, have our agents had enough time to achieve their objective?"

"It is within the timeframe we predicted sire. I have monitored communications on the planet and from the planet to Aerystryl. We cannot say for certain that they have succeeded though. By necessity they cannot beam any messages directly to us without giving themselves away."

"Then we will just need to have faith. Open an open channel to Aerystryl. I want it to be open to any who have a receiver to hear."

A moment later it was done. At a signal from his mentat Count Merlyn spoke.

"Loyal citizens of Aerystryl, this is Count Merlyn Ecaz. By right of blood and order of the Emperor I have come to reclaim this world. I call upon you to open the city to me and make us welcome."

Then, at a nod from the Count Jaymie opened another channel for a wide beam not just to Aerystryl but to all of Ecaz.

"Citizens, this is Count Merlyn Ecaz. By order of His Majesty the Emperor I have returned to lay claim to my birthworld. By now most of you will know that the Poritrin have not seen fit to move aside as they have been ordered. Furthermore, we have information that indicates that they might be involved in activities unsanctioned by either myself or the throne. Many of you will also have heard loyalists to my cause calling upon you resist the orders of the Doge.

Now, I call upon you myself. Rise up as ordered and cut off the Poritrins support. Do not engage their armies as I do not wish you killed but instead passively resist them and leave them to their own devices. Trained agents are on world to search for evidence and prove one way or another if the Poritrin are guilty of any crimes. Open the gates to me my people and let us have an end to this occupation."

All was silent on the bridge as the crew looked at each other again. This was all more then they had expected.

"Now then," the Count finally said, "Let us try to enter Aerystryl."

Summary: Suspecting that the Poritrin are up to no good and tired of being put off Count Merlyn has used his spy network that has been set up on Ecaz and called for a populist uprising. (GC, please my action in the Ecazi private forums for more information on that. This action and that one are meant to work jointly for greater effect.) I will put my respect on the line in calling for the people of Ecaz to turn away from the Poritrin and aid my cause. If we are able to enter I will try to take control of the lunar city and use it as a base untill we can remove the Poritrin.

Title: Homecoming
Type of RP: Conflict (Respect)

GM Ruling:
Approved. This can continue to be written if the player deems it necessary.
House Ecaz Victory
With the return of Count Merlyn to the traditional home of House Ecaz subsequent to the Emperor's decree of the return of the planet from House Poritrin's rule, the populace of Ecaz have begun celebrations. Warmly welcoming the Count and representatives of House Ecaz, the population were quick to voice their support for the imminent return to their traditional rulers after the brief rule of both House Ordos and Poritrin; regimes with practices often at ends to the Ecazi culture. Despite hoping for uprisings to rail against the Poritrin presence, the populace has more chosen passive means of expressing their eagerness to remove Poritrin rule from their world. Several of the regular deliveries of supplies to Poritrin garrisons have gone missing, communication towers vandalised and widespread traditional songs of the Ecaz Family have been sung boistrously; however no violence or direct action has been taken by the population against the disciplined soldiers of the Doge as the recognition of their abilities as combatants is well known by the Ecaz populace.

The Count and his returning forces are welcomed to the city of Aerstryl by the citizens, and Poritrin personnel have not interfered with any of House Ecaz's returning nobility and officers. At this stage it is not clear as to whether House Poritrin will refuse to withdraw as per the Emperor's decree, or whether they are dragging their feet in the handover to make it difficult and tedious for House Ecaz to regain control.

House Ecaz gains +5 to its Domestic Respect category pool.

Type of RP:Conflict (Respect)

Story:Jenice Ecaz hated these sorts of meetings but they were of course, as always, necessary.

"We will be ready then should the Poritrin begin to move out?"

"Of course Milady. All is in readiness. There people move out and ours move in, hopefully without any incident. Naturally my crews are prepared to do full security sweeps to make sure nothing untowards is 'accidentally' left behind."

She gave herself the liberty of a slight smile. As ever Jaymie, her fathers mentat, was both cautious and efficient. How she wished her father could be here instead of in court. It would only be fitting that he lead the march home. When the Emperor calls though one does not complain of 'other engagements'. There would be time enough for his triumphant return when he got back. In fact, his abscence might make the beggining stages of the transfer move more quickly. If the Poritrin, or other parties, planned treachery they might think twice if the Count wasn't here to be snared by it.

"That will be all then Jaymie. Thank you."

With a bow the mentat made his way from her chambers. For a bit of time she gazed out the window and through the doom of the lunar city down on planet Ecaz itself. Green, beautiful and as always very deadly. Again she smiled. It would be good to be home again.

Summary:While her father and older brother attend the Emperors celebration Jenice Ecaz is heading up the families operations to reclaim Ecaz. All agents and bondsmen to House Ecaz are prepared to move at the order from the Judge of the Change. Naturally the move will be preceded by security personel to make sure that no unwelcome surprises are left behind or that some hidden enemy does not catch them unawares.

With the arrival of the Judge of Change on Ecaz, House Poritrin has finally been forced into beginning preperations for their move offworld. Although dragging their feet in the event, advisors hope that Jenice can convince General Doltyan to push for the speeding up of the timetable for Poritrin to withdraw all of their forces from Ecaz.

Consulting with the Spacing Guild, they have agreed to make a Highlighner available for the move of House Ecaz in one deft transition. The highlighner can be made available for a fee of 185,000 solari (185s). Mentats predict that it will cost a further 15,000 solari (15s) for incidentals such as repairs and replacement of equipment that House Poritrin will undoubtedly take with them in their departure, but this figure could change when the move finally occurs and depending on how destructive and crippling the Poritrin wish to be.

In the meantime, House Ecaz is preparing all of its personnel to return to their homeworld once the Poritrin have vacated and the Judge of the Change gives the signal.

Story: She had very little patience remaining. Looking from the lunar city to the great green orb above, Jenice Ecaz paced on the balcony of her suites and seethed. The Poritrin were certainly taking their damned time but there was little she could do about it now. Already she had written to the judge of the change, politely and humbly requesting that the trespassers be hurried on their way. For now, all she could do was wait. Once the signal was given though all of House Ecaz mobilized to reclaim their lost home.

Summary: While her father remains on Kaitan for the moment, Jenice stands ready to begin the move home at the signal from the Judge of the Change. Please consider that polite envoys have been sent requesting that the Poritrin be removed with all haste.

Story:It was finally time. Merlyn Ecaz stood with his daughter on the lunar city and watched the Guild ships making their approach to planet Ecaz. In a few short hours it would all be done. House Ecaz was coming home.

"Its a beautiful sight father," said Jenice as she watched with some awe. She had never before seen an entire house moved like this. When she had last seen so many ships coming towards her homeworld they bore armies as she and her clan were forced into exile.

"Indeed," was all her father said. It was a sight for sore eyes to him as well, but still only the beggining. There was much yet to do.

"I'll be going down planet side shortly. Our agents indicate that the Poritrin are gone and that the nobles I contacted all of those months ago are keeping order in advance of my arrival. All goes according to plan."

Jenice looked from the fleet of ships to her father.

"Not even a moment to celebrate our good fortune?"

"Time enough for that once we are safely home dear. Then there will be plenty of time for celebrations."

Now was probably not the time to tell her about the rest of his plans. Reclaiming Ecaz was after all only the beggining.

Summary:
  • 1st item 200s donated to the Rulings GM account to cover Guild fees & incidentals.
  • 2nd item
  • 3rd item

GM Ruling:
PAID: 200s
Approved. This may continue to be written as the player deems necessary.
With the withdrawl of the Poritrin from Ecaz, the returning Ecaz family is welcomed eagerly by the populace and its nobles as celebrations are started in every town and city throughout Ecaz as the fief is returned to its founding House. No real issues arise in the handover and repossession of the administrative facilities and castles over the world, and the usual loss of equipment and vandalism by the withdrawing Poritrin were not beyond predictions and allocations of funds.

House Ecaz gains the fief of Ecaz.
House Ecaz gains +1 to its Economy rating from acquisition of fief.
House Ecaz gains +1 to its Economy rating from acquisition of Core: Industrial status.
