Alliance Bolsters Stability of Saudir

The Saudir Syssel’s movement towards unified cooperation and approaches to issues within the Syssel has recently been bolstered with the formal alliance formed between the Great Houses of Eleusis and Leontis. The two key and highly active Houses of the Saudir Syssel have entertained much stronger relations since the rise of Marquis Alexander Eleusis who has been show to agree much more than his predecessor with the policies of the Archduke Leontis.

The alliance guarantees mutual protection afforded by each House’s resources and opens the door to many economic possibilities as the two Houses return to far friendlier relations. The two Houses enjoyed mutual protection many years ago with the Alliance of Peace, but that faded with the collapse of the Alliance in 10.180 when House Leontis withdrew from the multi-house coalition after a series of atomic attacks on member worlds including a devastating attack on one of House Leontis’ own worlds with the forbidden weapons.

The signing of the alliance took place earlier this month on Laomedon, homeworld of House Leontis. Pledging continued support for the inhabitants of the Saudir Syssel, both Great Houses have been notably active in helping the Houses Minor of the Syssel in achieving sustained independence and growth without the need of influential parties from outside the Saudir Syssel.

Sources close to Archduke Leontis, Chair of the Saudir Syssel, have reported that the continued removal of external influences remains a strong policy of the reputable and driven noble. House Eleusinian sources have indicated that while a more recent addition to the effort, Marquis Eleusis firmly believes that a reduction in extra-Syssel political and economic interference will make Saudir the most stable, productive and growing Syssel of the Imperium.
