In a much anticipated move the CHOAM Board of Directors has finally issued an updated listing of charter holders. They are:

Melange:

• House Wikkheiser

Foodstuffs:

• House Alexin
• House Atreides

Industrial components:

• House Harkonnen
• House Ordos
• House Richese

Drugs:

• House Poritrin
• House Maros

High-tech goods:

• House Richese
• Ixian Confederacy

Luxury goods:

• Bene Gesserit
• House Aiantis
• House Leontis

Munitions:

• House Poritrin
• Imperial House Corrino

It is hoped by many analysts that this is a sign that the Board will now remedy the recent state of inactivity in the empires markets. For ages now the shelves of the stores of commerce have been bare and many industries and governments have ground to a halt. While there have been many causes for this, such as the failure of the recent Governor of Arrakis, most economists have agreed that CHOAM could be doing far more then it has.

In fact, many more questions remain before this esteemed body. Soon more worlds will be applying for charters. Additionally, our economy has recently been strained by shortages of food and drugs. Hopefully these new charters will alleviate such shortages but already we see that there is no labor charter granted. Will our next big shortage be for a dependable supply of labor?

Only time will tell but the whole empire is holding it's breath and crossing its fingers. Without dependable supplies many worlds might soon find their local economies failing. When that happens it cannot help but harm the greater, empire wide economy. Let us all hope that the CHOAM Board will finally put the ship aright.
