CHOAM Directorship Rumours

After the dismissal of the Landsraad congress for a brief recess before mass-debates began, rumours that Emperor Shaddam IV had already begun the process of restructuring and reshaping the current CHOAM Board of Directors began to spread like wildfire throughout the Royal Court.

Whilst the First Chamberlain to the Emperor, Giacomo Costino, denied any plans were in development or to be announced, talk and the exchange of information continued to spread throughout the well-known Royal Court members. It is important to note that one of the core intrigue of the Court is political gossip and hearsay, some well known and key members have stated that changes are indeed being planned by His Majesty.

Answering to the general anger and dissatisfaction among the Houses at large, it is said His Majesty has taken heed to the calls for change and has begun a process of elimination of the Directors who have failed to meet his expectations. As is well known, the Padishah Emperor can give and take CHOAM Directorships as he sees fit, and while very rarely taken once given, this could be one of those times.

While no names of the Houses that could be removed have been named, many are pointing to certain families that the Emperor believes have abused CHOAM or broken Imperial Law in the past. Some members of the Royal Court have even said it is something as basic as failure to show during CHOAM meetings.

Whatever the case may be, it is clear that after the recent debates, that CHOAM will not be the same again now that the Emperor has turned his attention to the issue.
