Confederacy's Production in Dispute
The Ixian Confederacy, one of the leading economies in the Imperium renowned for its technological advancements and one of the largest manufactures of industrial and high tech goods, is facing serious scrutiny over how healthy its economy really is. Leaked production reports seem to suggest that the state of the Ixian Confederacy's economy is much worse than previously thought with documents describing production levels 15% lower than previous official records indicated.
These leaked reports come at a time when jewel mining and luxury production lies at an all time low on Hagal following a wave of industrial action against the current Executive Director, Benedict Reza. Credible insider sources from the Ixian administration are openly disputing official CHOAM statistics, claiming they are at best "optimistic", if not "openly falsified".
At this moment in time, it is hard to deduce whether the reduced production is a result of the recent disputes centered around mass dissent over Reza's leadership or if the current administration have been purposefully doctoring official figures in order to buoy the administration's waning support. The Confederacy's Executive Director, once a popular figure, is already the center of controversy and his position has recently become increasingly uncertain following claims the Ixian economy has gone into decline under his leadership. These recent reports come as little surprise to the citizenship or senior officials, many of whom have been questioning production figures for months.
CHOAM has yet to comment on the authenticity of the leaked documents but sources say there is a degree of concern, especially after the recent decision to award the Confederacy with a high grade technological goods charter. If the reports are confirmed to be genuine then serious questions will be raised about whether the Confederacy is capable of meeting its quotas. That in addition to the prospect of severe penalties if the Confederacy is found to have been forging CHOAM reports.
This entire scandal has already caused considerable damage to the Executive Director and his administration, amid mounting domestic criticism and denouncements of his "ailing leadership and a stagnating economy".
