Imperial Celebration

By decree of His Royal Majesty, nobles from accross the Empire are descending on Kaitan to celebrate the continuation of Corrino rule. The event is expected to last for several days and include exotic entertainments and feasts of unheard of extravegance. Some, out of ear shot of the royal family of course, have questioned the timing of this event. They ask if this to celebrate the Corrino's long rule or perhaps to demonstrate it?

There can be no doubt that the Corrino's star has been rising since the low period following the Council of Justice debacle. In recent months, after incidents of decisive leadership, His Majesties rule seems more secure then ever. Given the nature of politics though, and the old axiom that the head with the crown lies uneasy, every little bit to secure stability, and security for the ruling dynasty, must seem like an attractive option.

So even now, nobles gather at the capital by imperial decree. Who does, and who does not, deign to appear will surely be noticed. Not all ruling families are fully reconciled with the Corrinos so this event may be the measuring stick by which the loyalty of these outsiders will be measured. With the turmoil currently in the Landsraad one can safely assume that more will be going on behind the scenes then on the carefully crafted stage that the Corrinos are setting.
