Landsraad General Plenary - 10.191

Bi-annual Landsraad review takes place amidst some confusion.
Turn:
128

It is once again time for the bi-annual Landsraad Plenary to review recent events and to set public policy for ongoing initiatives. House Eleusis, as speaker of the Landsraad, has called the event to order and set the iteniary for an ambitious, and hopefully productive, session. Unfortunately though, the rest of the Landsraad does not yet appear to be up to the challenge issued.

Already there has been serious confusion as some scheduled speakers have failed to appear. What the final outcome this will have on the proposed slate of work has yet to be seen.

In a seperate speech, the Emperor , speaking on his own behalf for the occasion, set forth on a variety of topics including the economy, awarding of fiefs and guild shipping prices. Sharp listeners were able to discern several not so vieled threats levied towards Houses who recently have been hoarding munitions and other important commodities. This has prompted many Houses to quietly whisper and point fingers at their fellows. As usual, the game of politics is in full effect.

Following in the Emperors footsteps, Archduke Leontis has called out the Houses who have failed to repair or improve upon their fiefs following the end of the quarintine. It remains to be seen if his statement will have any effect but one can only assume that continued neglect will only draw Imperial ire. Given the level of incompetence, neglect or downright indifference shown by many lately ranging from the CHOAM Directors through the various House Lords, we can only hope that the Plenary will be the catalyst that might spark much needed reform.
