New Sector Charted

It was announced today that the Spacing Guild's exploration corp has discovered four new worlds suitable for habitation. These are Kadesh & Gollimar which will be used as Guild bases in the region, and the worlds of Gangishree and Gansireed. Being near the Fiqh District these worlds will fall under that jurisdiction as the newly assigned Junaghadh Sector.

In the announcement the Throne further stated that the two as yet unclaimed worlds will be distributed to suitable candidates at the Emperor's discretion. Naturally, this is expected to set off a flurry of activity within the Landsraad as every noble house will hope to better their fortunes. Astute political observervers expect much open and even more veiled maneuvering in the Landsraad to secure these new prizes.

Some have questioned the Thrones intent in making the announcement in this manner. If the Emperor had someone in mind already when these worlds became available then he likely would have said so and would have already assigned them. Instead, many analysts believe that this is all part of some larger plan and that the Golden Lion Throne is manipulating the nobles of the Landsraad towards some as yet unknown end.

One point though that does not seem to have been considered yet; these worlds are reported to be habitable but as yet have no human residents or infrastructure. Whomever is the benificiary of this unforseen bounty will have a monumental task facing them. They will have to build, basicly from scratch, a world that will be both profitable and manageable. As of yet, it has not even been reported if these worlds have any useful resources for whomever might be their governors.
